How To Remove Grease Stains With A Simple Ingredient

Do you ever get dressed and then realize there is a grease stain on your shirt? Ever have one of those days where you spill food down the front of you? I don’t know about you but both of these happen to me. If you are like me and this happens to you, continue reading to find out how to remove grease stains with a simple ingredient.

One Simple Ingredient to Remove Grease Stains

You can remove grease stains with a simple ingredient that you may already have sitting in your kitchen – Dawn dish soap.

Bottle of blue Dawn Detergent sitting on stovetop

Quick and Easy Process

Not only is it just one ingredient but the process is quick and easy with 3 simple steps.

Step 1: Pour a small amount of the Dawn detergent to the stain and add some cold water.

Step 2: Scrub the Dawn detergent and water into the stain. You could use a brush but I just rub the shirt together between my fists. Rinse the soap off with cold water. (You don’t have to completely rinse the soap.)

Step 3: Launder as normal. You can launder immediately although it isn’t necessary. However, if I’m behind on laundry, there have been times where the shirt or article of clothing has sat a couple of days.

This method can successfully remove grease stains from clothes even after several days, regardless of whether they have been washed or not. It has worked almost every single time for me. It has definitely saved me a lot of money from not having to buy new clothes!

I would love to hear if this method worked for you. Or if you have any other methods to remove grease stains from clothing, please leave them in the comments below. Be sure to check out my post on how to remove yellow armpit stains.
